Souper Bowl of Caring 2012: MORE THAN 20 YEARS AGO, the Souper Bowl of Caring began with a simple prayer from a single youth group: “Lord, as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us to be mindful of those without even a bowl of soup to eat.” Since that day, more than $81 million has been raised for local charities across the country through the Souper Bowl of Caring. It has become a powerful movement that is transforming the time around Super Bowl weekend into the nation’s largest celebration of giving and serving.
On February 5th, we will join churches all across the country in the Souper Bowl of Caring and collect money and food for the hungry and homeless in our community. This year we will be collecting for Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach (MTKO) in Lincoln.
For nearly 20 years MTKO has served the homeless and near homeless. Feeding the hungry is at the core of their mission-MTKO serves a hot nutritious lunch and dinner every day of the year. More than 100,000 meals were served in 2011! Matt Talbot also provided over 20,000 homeless prevention services in 2011 such life skills training, drug & alcohol counseling, case management and health screenings.
Be part of this movement that is sharing God’s love with those in need. Please give generously on Souper Bowl Sunday. A gift in any amount is greatly appreciated and truly makes a difference.

Tens of thousands headed for divorce have successfully saved their marriages by attending. Retrouvaille is a not spiritual retreat, not a sensitivity group, not a seminar, not a social gathering. For confidential information about or to register for the February program beginning with a weekend on February 17-19, 2012 call 1-888-317-5654 or www.HelpOurMarriage.org on the web.
