Mary Outside of Church

A statement on education from our parish’s 1997 Vision Statement.

We provide a first class Christ-centered Catholic education, pre-school through the 12th grade.  This education is provided at an affordable cost to parents while maintaining a just wage for our teachers and administrators, and well maintained up-to-date equipment facilities.  This is accomplished through the continued support of our parish members, the establishment of a grade school endowment program and by inviting the non-Catholic community to participate financially in our exceptional product.  Educational opportunities for all are supported through a sound and meaningful CCD program, active and energetic teen programs, RCIA, Bible Studies, and prayer groups for adults.

The following is an excerpt from Pope Benedict XVI’s address to Catholic educators at Catholic University of America, Washington, DC, on 17 April 2008, during his visit to the United States.

Education is integral to the mission of the Church to proclaim the Good News. First and foremost every Catholic educational institution is a place to encounter the living God who in Jesus Christ reveals his transforming love and truth. This relationship elicits a desire to grow in the knowledge and understanding of Christ and his teaching.
