The GodParent/GodTeen program provides all Catholic high school students direction in the Catholic faith and gives high school students a mentor. The GodParent and GodTeens meet for 1 hour on Wednesday evenings during the school year in the GodParent’s home.
Recent GodTeen Events:
November 2009 – Collecting Clothes for The Foster Care Closet
The GodTeens had learned about the services of the Foster Care Closet, run by Leigh Esau, and the need for clothing for foster care children, especially teens and thought that they could help.
Over the course of one week the group of teens collected 1,017 lbs of clothing for children and teens who are in foster care. They collected clothes from their own closets, asked friends, their parents, coworkers and friends of their parents, put announcements out at their high schools, and our parish community. On Wednesday November 11th the group had the official “weigh in” similar to the Biggest Loser show.
Thank you to all of the GodTeens that participated and to the GodParent couples: Toni & Michelle, Jay & Tricia, Andy & Jennifer, and Christian & Angela.
