A Special Wedding Anniversary Mass and reception for those celebrating their first anniversary this year, any multiple of five years, or 50+ years of marriage will be held Sunday, September 26th at 3:00 p.m., at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ in Lincoln. Bishop Bruskewitz will celebrate the Mass for this “Joy and Hope” celebration of Christian Marriage. Family guests are welcome. Twenty-Third Annual Marian Mass, Rosary & Candlelight Procession!

The twenty-third annual Marian Mass, Rosary and Candlelight Procession will take place on Wednesday, September 15th at 7:00 p.m. on the grounds of the Waverly Marian Center. Bishop Bruskewitz will be the main celebrant and homilist. A play about Fatima, performed by the children in S.T.A.G.E., will begin at 6:00 p.m. The Rosary will be prayed in English, Czech, Spanish, Vietnamese and German. Limited seating and handicap accessible restrooms will be provided.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

September 15, 2010, Classes for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, (or CGS, as we affectionately and lovingly refer to it), begins SEPTEMBER 15, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. The class schedule will follow the CCD schedule beginning September 15th. Parents and students will meet in the CGS Atrium, which will be located in the meeting room at Blessed Sacrament School. With vacations, sports, and busy schedules, blood centers nationwide often experience a critical shortage of donors during the summer. COFFEE AND ROLLS: Our Coffee and Rolls after Mass program starts in August and goes through May. This is an excellent activity that provides fellowship and the opportunity to meet new people and visit with old friends. Husker Home Football Games: Parish Fundraiser

Husker Home Football Games Parish Fundraiser: Opportunity to Raise Funds for our Church/School/Groups. It’s not an easy job, but it has its rewards. Help Blessed Sacrament sell backrests before home UNL football games, then help collect them after the game. You must be at least 14 years old. Students who are lettering in a high school sport are not eligible. Anyone wanting to participate must help before and after the game. You arrive 2.5 hours before kickoff. Once the game starts, you are free to watch the entire game. After the game it takes about an hour to collect the backrests. Participants do not have to be members of Blessed Sacrament, but all funds earned go to our Parish. NOTE: Anyone attending a game is encouraged to stop by the West Stadium after the game and help us out. Contact Paul at 477-0783 for details.

Fest Quest

Our annual parish Fall Festival will take place on Sunday, October 10, 2010. Mark your calendar as you don’t want to miss this event packed full of fun for all ages. This year’s event will include many of the long time favorite activities (silent and live auction, games, and food) and it will include some new elements as well.

As in previous years, this is a fundraiser for the parish and school. This year’s funds will go towards structural repairs to the school gymnasium.
