
The Catholic rosary is a devotion dedicated to the Blessed Virgin, the Mother of God. (CCC 971) The rosary consists of fifteen decades. Each decade focuses upon a particular mystery in the life of Christ and his Blessed Mother. It is customary to say five decades at a time, while meditating upon one set of mysteries.
We have provided a guide for you and your family to use as you pray the Rosary.

- The Sign of the Cross; The Apostles’ Creed
- On the first bead, pray “Our Father…”
- On each of the next 3 beads, pray “Hail Mary…”
- Pray “Glory Be..” and optional “O my Jesus…” and then announce the First Mystery
- Begin meditation on the First Mystery as you pray “Our Father…”
- Pray “Hail Mary…” on each of the ten beads in the first decade.
Repeat steps 4,5,6 for steps 7,8,9; 10,11,12; 13,14,15; 16,17,18, announcing and meditating on the consecutive mysteries.
- Following the 5th decade, pray “Glory Be…” and “O my Jesus…”
Pray “Hail, Holy Queen…”, “O God, whose…” and “Remember O Most Gracious Virgin Mary…”
Conclude, as with all prayers, with “In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”
