The Finance & Development Commission assists, counsels, and advises the Pastor in the overall fiscal operations of the parish and encourages stewardship as a way of life for all parishioners.
Finance Committee
The finance committee assesses the overall financial condition of the parish and school. Assistance is provided in accounting procedure with making the most economical use of the funds provided for each. A monthly meeting is typically scheduled with some additional meetings required around the end of the fiscal year (June 30).
CSA Workers / Coordinators
Help prepare the parish for the annual diocesan charity and stewardship appeal, work during the appeal itself, and help follow-up with phone calls.
SCRIP Program
Through a nation SCRIP program, we are able to purchase and sell gift certificates to many national and local merchants. Because we sell the gift certificates, the national SCRIP program lets us keep a percentage of the certificate value. The gift certificates are available for purchase during school hours and after Sunday Mass. You can participate in the SCRIP Program by either helping sell the certificates or by purchasing them.
Stewardship
Our Stewardship Committee strives to create a sense of belonging for all members of our parish family. By sharing the gifts the Lord blessed you with you too can help develop an atmosphere of a Christian community at Blessed Sacrament. Members of this committee coordinate the annual Stewardship of Treasure and the Time and Talent campaign. We hold one hour monthly meetings on the 2nd Sunday of each month. Our meetings are open to anyone wishing to share an idea and there are no requirements of our members.
7 Steps to Becoming Financially Free
7 Steps to Becoming Financially Free is a Catholic small group study about managing money. It helps participants deepen their relationship with the Lord and strengthen their marriage and family life. In addition, it builds a support network for living Catholic values. The program teaches participants how to break free from the bondage of consumer debt and develop a realistic and Godly financial plan for the future. The program consists of approximately eight sessions of 90-120 minutes each over a ten week period. Participants are not required to share any personal or confidential information. The cost is $47 for couples or $30 per individual. These costs are to cover the materials used. Sessions will typically run a few times a year.
Our Blessed Voices – Parish Newsletter
We publish a quarterly newsletter celebrating the activities of our parish along with detailed information about upcoming events. Anyone with an article idea or the desire to write an article is welcome to help.
Desktop Publishing/Graphic Design/Photography
If you have desktop publishing skills or love to take pictures, perhaps you may consider using your skills to help Blessed Sacrament. There are several organizations that need a creative flair every now and again. A parish computer is available with many software programs. The time involvement would depend on how much you want to do.
Office Work & Phone Calling
Day or evening hours available to help with rectory office tasks: bulletin stuffing, preparing mailings, data entry and answering phones. Training provided. Time commitment varies according to the job. Also need people willing to call parishioners on behalf of the pastor or parish ministries as needed. Calls can be made from home or the parish office.
